AE Group Mechanical Engineers, working with KBZ Architects, helped design comprehensive modernization projects, including the HVAC and plumbing portions at the Santa Barbara High School campus. Projects have included traditional plumbing and HVAC as well as specialties such as swimming pool heating and woodshop ventilation. AE Group additionally has worked on projects throughout the Santa Barbara Union School District and neighboring Santa Barbara County school districts in Hope Ranch, Carpinteria, Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, Solvang, and Lompoc.

Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy

The Engineering Academy program integrates physics, computer science, and engineering design. The facility combines more traditional classroom spaces with a prototype room, a machine shop, and a robotics arena. AE Group worked with KBZ Architects on this project. We have performed the mechanical engineering portions on K-12 school projects throughout the Santa Barbara Union School District, as well as projects throughout other areas of Santa Barbara County, some with Robert Robles Architecture and 19 Six Architects.

Peabody Charter School Exploration Center

AE Group worked with KBZ Architects to design the HVAC portion of an extensive modernization of the Peabody facilities, and has performed the mechanical engineering portions of projects throughout the Santa Barbara Unified School District.

Ventura Unified School District Educational Services Center

The ESC facility is the headquarters of the Ventura Unified School District. AE Group provided the engineering for major HVAC systems modernization improvements including new chillers and cooling towers. AE Group has performed mechanical engineering services including plumbing and HVAC systems for VUSD since 1993 at all of the facilities and campuses in the district. We’ve provided services for K-12 school projects throughout Ventura County, including Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Oak Park, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Santa Paula, and Ojai.

Juan Lagunas Soria Elementary School

Juan Soria School is one of two new Oxnard Union School District schools AE Group helped design on the team with Martinez Architects. Harrington School was another new OUSD school designed with Dougherty + Dougherty Architects. AE Group has performed the mechanical engineering portions on other OUSD projects as well as on many projects with 19 Six Architects in the Hueneme Elementary School District and the Ocean View School District.

Briggs Elementary School

Briggs School recently celebrated its 150th anniversary and is embarking on a new project to modernize its outdated HVAC systems. The project involves the engineering design of completely new HVAC systems in a historically significant building, including the addition of increased outdoor air ventilation and air conditioning (cooling) for the entire campus. The HVAC systems are heat pumps in line with the global warming/climate change goal of eliminating carbon dioxide emissions from burning natural gas. AE Group is working with 19 Six Architects on the Briggs project, as well as on other Ventura County school projects at Mesa School, the Ocean View School District, and the Hueneme Elementary School District.
